The familiar gates
inviting you
into a place
you once considered
as a second home.
But once you get
passed the gate,
your whole being clashes with
what you once were.
Trying to fit
it all back.
Like a uniform
three sizes too small.
It still fits
but it’s too uncomfortable.
It still fits
but something’s not right.
It still fits
but something’s not in place.
Some excited soul
crashing into a shadow
hiding while rattling the irongates.
Until you realize,
that soul is you.
and so is the shadow.
